Grave Markers
The ink on grave markers will disappear due to normal wear and tear and because of weather conditions. Gardens of Peace reserve the right to re-ink the grave marker at its sole discretion, whether funded by well-wishers or by using its own funds.
We accept re-inking fees on the basis that they are non-refundable. Also on occasion, the re-inking fee for a particular grave marker will also be paid multiple times by well-wishers or family and friends of the deceased. We will treat any multiple payments as lillah donations to the Cemetery.
Please only proceed with payment if you are happy with the above.
NOTES:
- Please insert the grave number correctly where indicated when making payment online. We will be unable to action your request if the grave number is not stated or incorrectly given.
- We are not accepting requests for re-inking of white marble gravestones as this is not effective due to the age of the stones. We are recommending you order a replacement green granite gravestone instead. The cost of ordering a replacement is a concessionary rate of £100.
- Please note re-inking can take up to 6 weeks from date of payment.
- Please note replacement stones can take up to 6 months from date of payment.
- Re-Inking Disclaimer: Please note that due to the age and condition of some gravestones at Elmbridge Road Cemetery, re-inking may not always be fully effective or produce long-lasting results. In certain cases, the lettering or stone surface may be too worn for re-inking to achieve a satisfactory finish. For this reason, we recommend the installation of a replacement gravestone as a more suitable and durable option.
